From the Principal's Desk

It is an honour and a privilege to be the Principal of New Sunflower High School, the school that stands for excellence and continuously sets high standards, the school that is an alma mater which all alumni look back to with fond memories; the school that has given this country many distinguished personalities and leaders in diverse fields.

The school is not new to me. It has been my raison d’etre for the last 5 years. This period has been a journey of great learning for me. As they say, “One who dares to teach must never cease to learn”. I have learnt not only from my seniors and colleagues but also from my students and their parents, through continuous interactions.
I am very grateful to my illustrious predecessors – Late S. Maan Singh Bhatti & Late S. Harinder Singh Bhatti, who conceptualized the very idea of establishing this school. I am committed not only to maintain the impeccable image and highest standards, but also to carry them forward to new heights.

The importance of education in the life of an individual cannot be overstated. It shapes individuals in their formative years and imbues them with values that would govern all their choices in life. It is said ‘If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people’. Indeed, one can even say that the quality of education will determine the destiny of the nation.

For me, Education does not mean providing answers but it means empowering students to discover themselves as people. Within each student is a doctor, an engineer, a teacher, a social activist, a sports person, an environmentalist, a poet, an author or an economist. The teachers support them in channelizing resources vis-à-vis their dreams; thus, sustainably generating civilized and productive human capital for serving our motherland.

I assure you that my door will always be open to the students and their parents for any suggestion or guidance.
